Description

A refreshing and zesty no-bake dessert layered with creamy key lime filling, whipped cream, and graham cracker crumbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup key lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • Thin lime slices for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust: In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until well-combined and moistened.
  2. Build the Base: Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish or a large bowl as the first layer.
  3. Make the Key Lime Filling: In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Whip the Cream: In another bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Layer It Up: Pour half of the key lime mixture over the graham cracker base, followed by half of the whipped cream and half of the sliced strawberries.
  6. Repeat the layering with the remaining graham crumbs, key lime filling, whipped cream, and strawberries.
  7. Garnish: Finish it off by garnishing the top with thin lime slices and fresh mint leaves.
  8. Chill: Let the trifle refrigerate for at least 240 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

For best results, chill the trifle overnight. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
