Description

A cozy no-bake dessert featuring layers of rich coffee, Irish cream liqueur, and whipped cream this Irish Coffee Trifle is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup Irish cream liqueur
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ladyfinger cookies or cake pieces
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by brewing a robust cup of coffee and let it cool down. Once it has cooled, whisk in the Irish cream liqueur until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, take the heavy cream and whip it together with the sugar and vanilla extract. Keep whipping until soft peaks form.
  3. Grab a trifle dish and begin layering with the coffee mixture at the bottom, followed by ladyfinger cookies or cake pieces. After that, dollop on a generous layer of whipped cream.
  4. Repeat these layers until you use up all the ingredients, finishing off with a final layer of whipped cream on top.
  5. For that extra touch of decadence, garnish with chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder.
  6. Place the trifle in the refrigerator for at least an hour, allowing the flavors to meld and the dish to chill nicely.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time. Perfectly pairs with a rich cup of coffee or dessert wine.
