Description
A creamy and rich homemade caramel made from Medjool dates, perfect for a healthy treat without refined sugars.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Medjool dates, pitted and chopped
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Prep the dates: If your dates are a bit hard, soak them in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften them. Drain and pat them dry.
- Blend the ingredients: In a blender, combine the soaked dates, almond milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
- Blend until smooth: Blend on high until everything is well combined and has a smooth consistency. If it’s too thick, you can add a little more milk, one tablespoon at a time.
- Taste and adjust: Taste the caramel and feel free to add more salt or a splash more vanilla for extra flavor if needed.
- Serve or store: You can use the caramel immediately or store it in the fridge for later!
Notes
Store any leftover caramel in an airtight container in the fridge for about 5 to 7 days, or freeze for longer storage.
